Generations of lived experience and inherited memories pool together in this work as I delve into collective and personal trauma. An exploration in order to understand what has been inherited, forgotten, hidden and denied. But also a healing journey involving individual stories and family histories.
This work represents enquiry and healing efforts, both on the neuroanatomical scale and on the scale of Colombia’s history. Through painting, engraving, burning, melting, sanding, dripping, hanging and layering I communicate the turmoil and beauty of Colombia's Collective Trauma.
